Ara Legal Initiative

Ara Legal Initiative is a refugee legal aid center based in New Delhi, India. Established in February 2013, it provides legal aid and counseling to refugees and asylum-seekers in India and assist them to understand and navigate the applicable legal and administrative procedures.

Burma Assist

Burma Assist is an international development organisation that provides professional and financial support to Burmese community-led projects.

Burma Assist began six years ago with Chris Barr, the Founder and Director making contact and living with the Burmese refugees and asylum seekers in Delhi, India. In 2009 it became a Scottish registered charity. It is in Edinburgh and present in Delhi, through our Indian Burma Assist colleagues, and its Indian partner organization, Chetanalaya.

Indo-Global Social Service Society (IGSSS)

Indo-Global Social Service Society (IGSSS) is a non-profit organisation working with the mandate for a humane social order based on truth, justice, freedom and equity. Established in 1960, IGSSS works for development, capacity building and enlightenment of the vulnerable communities across the country for their effective participation in development.

Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS)

The Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) is an international Catholic organisation with a mission to accompany, serve and advocate on behalf of refugees and other forcibly displaced persons. JRS programmes are found in 50 countries, providing assistance to: refugees in camps and cities, individuals displaced within their own countries, asylum seekers in cities, and to those held in detention centres. The main areas of work are in the field of education, emergency assistance, healthcare, livelihood activities and social services.

PILSARC

The Public Interest Legal Support and Research Centre (PILSARC) is a non-profit legal back-up centre based in New Delhi. It provides coordinated institutional support and solutions in the various fields of human rights, civil liberties, governance and social justice. The office includes a special unit on refugee law

SANLAAP

Sanlaap is a development organization that works towards correction of social imbalances, which manifest in gender injustice and violence against women and children. Sanlaap works against trafficking of women and children for commercial sexual exploitation, sexual abuse and prostitution.

South Asia Human Rights Documentation Centre (SAHRDC)

The South Asia Human Rights Documentation Centre (SAHRDC) is a network of individuals across the region. It seeks to investigate, document and disseminate information about human rights, refugees, media freedom, prison reforms, torture, disappearances and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment.

The Other Media

The Other Media was set up in 1992 to provide a broad-based platform in support of struggle-based people's movements in the sub-continent and issue-based campaigns at national and regional levels. The organisation's fundamental objective is to promote values and principles such as peace, democracy, secularism, and economic, environmental and gender justice.

Zakat Foundation of India

Zakat Foundation of India was established in 1997 as a grassroots level organization by concerned residents of New Delhi. It's a non-profit organization which collects and utilizes 'zakat' or charity for socially beneficial projects. Their projects include running an orphanage, charitable hospital, providing stipends to widows etc.
